Ependymal cell

A type of neuroglia cell which forms a specialised epithelium lining the ventricles of the CNS. A major component of the choroid plexus, responsible for the secretion of ions and fluid into the CSF. Forms a selectively permeable barrier between the blood and CNS. Share many features with proximal cells of the kidney due to their similar function in fluid transport.
